Slyman’s Restaurant: A Cleveland Destination for Hearty American Sandwiches & Breakfast Delights

"It's history, man." A friendly local told me while I waited in line, and boy was he right. Believe the hype. Expect a line. You can find parking on the street nearby. It's definitely worth the wait. Definitely a historic and classic atmosphere! Such friendly employees and great customer service, too. They joked with me that I was from Maine and asked where their lobster was. It's a HUGE Reuben sandwich. The meat is tender and of good quality! One of the best Reuben sandwiches I've ever had. Definitely make an effort to come here not only because it's great food, but since it's an institution in Cleveland.

In Cleveland you have to stop at Slymans Deli the original restaurant. It did not disappoint had the corned beef and pastrami sandwich and the hot turkey, generous portions and they were awesome. Even had a chance to meet one of the owners great experience a must stop.

I'm just visiting here in Cleveland for the next 2 weeks and had to try Slyman's. They may not have the space like Katz on E. Houston St., in lower Manhattan but the quality of their Corned Beef on Rye is superb and just as good. One word "Delish" Get here before 11:30 if you want to beat the lunch crowd.

My first time at Slyman's Restaurant. The hype is right! The food was so good and almost impossible to finish. You will ha e enough to take home and make a few more sandwiches. We had the Reuben and Fried Chicken Sandwiches. The fries and pickles were great finishing touches. Dont forget to tip the table bussers because they help you get seated quickly. Order then sit and wait. A+++

If you ar3 from Cleveland you know this restaurant has the best service and corned beef sandwiches. You're always greeted with a smile and the service is quick. I usually come in, grab a sandwich, and leave. This time I decided to sit in and have a lunch with my daughter. I got my usual corned beef on toasted rye bread with mustard and Swiss cheese with a side of fries. It was so good and the service was great as usual. Thanks to all of the staff for the excellent service and good food. You know I'll be back soon!

This place was such a good find. Easy to get to with Google maps, not far off the highway. The line was out the door but moved fast. Maybe half hour wait. People in line said some days it is longer wait. The food was so good. Big portions for not to much money. I had Pastrami sandwich. My brother had the triple decker. The staff were very nice. The busses were so fast all the staff were friendly. The only thing I saw wrong was the floor in the small dining room. It was tile and VERY slippery/greasy. We will return for sure. Best corned beef/pastrami sandwiches outside of New York. So worth our the 3 hour trip to go here.

The food was excellent! I got a Reuben corned beef and Reuben pastrami. They don’t care about preference of thousand island or mustard, etc. But you can ask for on the side and add it yourself. Customer service was great! They were so kind even for a pick up order. I’ve wan to Motown deli and here and I definitely have an opinion on who is better but I won’t share it now. Both great sandwiches!!
